The Golden Era
Indian cinema is going through a beautiful phase where audience is entertained through various genres of films. However, 40's-60's is considered as a golden era for the Indian film industry. Still, for me the most exciting period of Indian cinema will be 60's. Though I wasn't able to witness the enigmatic era however, this is the very era which attracts me. This era brought colour on the silver screen. In this very period actors, changed the meaning of acting and stardom. It is interesting fact that each era/period of cinema has added at a macro level to the industry. Cinema was very diverse and touched different dimensions of human life. While the commercial cinema was gaining importance parallel cinema was rising it's head at other end. Pioneer for the parallel cinema in India was Bengali cinema. Hindi cinema too was gaining popularity through the medium of parallel films with films like Bimal roy's do bheega zameen [1953] and Chetan anand' neecha naga...
