Suddenly, our favourite tv shows or films were on our fingertips. However, the real cinema lover enjoyed to watch a film on 70 mm with some fresh butter popcorn on the side. It always fealt like those three hours, were the ones where we immersed ourselves in the vision of our story teller.  Cinema has a unique way of touching every human through different rassas(emtions).Language or cultural referances mainly differ in which movies are ...

Azad Cinema {freedom motion picture}

Patriotism. It is one such feeling which tears your heart and brings tears to one's eyes. Then it does not matter which country you belong . It is one such feeling around which an entire film can be built up. As there are other emotions such as revenge, romance, fear etc. patriotism has always been one strong emotion in Indian cinema. It is so because, India as a country which has been through the  worst  phases and bad environment where people have lost their their lives or everything they had. Mostly, the patriotic cinema captured the Indian freedom struggle or the pre or post partition period. The first ever Indian war film was made by Chetan anand by the name  Haqeeqat 1964. Although this film brought together the Indo -China war not freedom struggle, it developed a strong sense of an Indian emotion. There were very less films showcasing the Indo -China war. Then, this film was followed by string of  patriotic  films dealing with different chu...

The Golden Era

Indian cinema is going through a beautiful phase where audience is entertained through various genres of films. However, 40's-60's is considered as a golden era for the Indian film industry. Still, for me the most exciting period of Indian cinema will be 60's. Though I wasn't able to witness the enigmatic era however, this is the very era which attracts me. This era brought colour on the silver screen. In this very period actors, changed the meaning of acting and stardom. It is interesting fact that each era/period of cinema has added at a macro level to the industry. Cinema was very diverse and touched different dimensions of human life. While the commercial cinema was gaining importance parallel cinema was rising it's head at other end.  Pioneer for the parallel cinema in India was Bengali cinema. Hindi cinema too was gaining popularity through the medium of parallel films with films like  Bimal roy's do bheega zameen [1953]  and Chetan anand' neecha naga...

Television started with mythological shows, shows on partition of India and family drama. Even in 90's time Indian television was experiencing a taste of reality shows such as sa re ga ma, the viva group of channel v, and dance shows such as boogie woogie. Actually, if we go to see it reality shows has never been a new prospect of TV. Indian TV and also the Indian  audiences have also supported the theme of reality shows for a long time.
